Why do I need a website?

How do I know which website package is right for me?
Our packages are designed to suit every business from small single traders to large companies. The website lists the different packages we provide, but if you are still not sure, call us! A member of our sales team will be happy to help you decide on the right package.
What happens after I buy a website?
Once you have purchased a package from Webworks Internet, we will send you an artwork pack for you to complete and return. This will include options for your website layout and a CD to add any images or logos you require on the site.
How much information do you need from me to design the website?
As much as possible! More information from you means a more detailed, comprehensive website which is more attractive to potential customers. Depending on your business type, this could be anything from products sold, menus, lists of services, or areas covered. Background information of your company is vital, as this is what really makes your company unique and helps us to make it stand out online.
How long does it take to build my website?
It generally takes 21-28 working days from receipt of your completed artwork pack to dispatching a proof disc with a copy of the website on to you. You can then view the website offline before giving us the confirmation to put the website live on the internet.
What happens if I don’t like the website you design for me?
Though it is rare, sometimes customers don’t agree with the design choices we make while creating their websites. Changes to the website can be made before it goes live,
If I already have a website, can I transfer it to Webworks?
Of course! If you already have a site you are happy with, why not let us manage the hosting for you. Transferring to our hosting is simple and painless.
My proof disc with the website on does not work, what do I do?
The proof discs are designed to auto-run from a desktop PC. If you cannot get it to run from your PC, give us a call and we will create a private link for you. This will allow you to view the website online in a private area. No one else can see it until you approve it to go live.
Can I sell my products online?
Webworks have E-Commerce packages allowing you to do just that. E-Commerce sites can be of any size and will be created with your product range in mind.
Can the website be altered after it is live?
If you require updates to your site, such as menu changes or booking availabilities, or even something as simple as a new phone number, send us an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. detailing the website name and the change you require. Any changes will be made within 3 days of receiving them.
My changes have been made. Why can’t I see them on the live website?
Sometimes your computer may not automatically refresh the website. Press F5 on your keyboard, or the refresh button on your browser, and the updated website will be downloaded.
Can I make changes to my website myself?
Purchasing an FTP account or a CMS website are both methods which allow you to make changes to your own website. CMS websites allow you to change content through your internet browser, while FTP accounts allow access to the code for more technically minded customers.
Why can’t I find my website on Google?
Google uses very complicated algorithms to choose which sites to display. New sites and small sites take longer to show up without SEO. If you are not appearing in their search you may need to purchase an SEO package to improve your positions in the search engines.
What is SEO and how does it work?
Search Engine Optimisation encapsulates a wide range of methods for improving your positions with Google and other search engines. Simply put, we will adjust your website and carry work in other areas of the internet (such as social media and business directories) to give your site greater exposure on the internet and make it more favourable to Google and other search engines.
Which SEO package is best for my website?
Our SEO packages are separated by target area. If you are a small business covering your local town, then the Local Package is ideal. The larger packages cover wider areas for larger businesses or if you are looking to expand your catchment area.
How do I choose which key phrases to use?
Each key phrase needs to specific to your business and area, and should match what you expect customers to type in to Google to find your business. For example, ‘plumber in darlington’ or ‘beauty salon in middlesbrough’. If you are not sure, we can help you pick suitable keywords for your business.
How long does SEO usually take to work?
Each website is different, and each key phrase is effected by competition, relevancy and many other factors. Generally speaking, we expect your website to appear on the first 3 pages of Google within 2 months of beginning SEO. We then keep working on the site to improve position, but cannot guarantee any specific position.
What does Google Analytics do?
Google Analytics is a powerful tool for tracking who and how many people visit your website. We install a section of code in your website for you and then give you the account details to login. From there you can track who visits your site, how they found the site, how long they stay on the website, and much more.
How do I set up my email account?
Email account details will be sent to you with your proof disc. If you have trouble accessing them, our technical support staff are available to talk you through any issues you may have.
